I swear there has never been a piece of software that I’ve had to deal with on a regular basis that I hate as much as ITunes. I upgraded the other day after an annoying amount of pop up urging. It changed a whole bunch of config settings, started deleting stuff I hadn’t listened to and now won’t sync with my calendar because I use outlook 2002 and not outlook 2003.
ITunes you suck!!
ITunes 7 You suck!!
I hate you and hope the person responsible for these changes has his arms ripped off at the sockets and is beaten about the head and body with the bloody ends repeatedly!!
Ok I really don’t advocate anybody doing that but I still hate you.

I am with you here…
I had one of the first 40GB iPods - had it basically full and then one day it just erased itself COMPLETELY. I still hold a grudge to this day on them..

I can’t stand iTunes. It’s so unbelievably user-unfriendly. It baffles me that it has been adopted by so many. It’s the only apple thing I have experience with and it really (probably unfairly) turns me off apple things.
I’ve been using yamipod to manage my ipod and have completely uninstalled iTunes. My life is sane again. (And don’t even get me started about quicktime.)

I think your first issue is that you’re using Outlook. It’s a hideous application, I think. I’ve been a thunderbird user for quite some time now. Apple and Microsoft don’t mix well, you should have learned that by now
On the other hand, I simply love iTunes 7 and this release with the improvements they’ve made. I love the new downloading feature for purchasing music.

OH yeah! I lost close to 40gb of tunes on mine because of a Synching problem with ITunes. Ipods should work just like memory stick drives…double click on it and there you go. yamipod is the way to go.

Thunderbird doesn’t work for me

I think the problem is I refuse to drink the ITunes Kool Aid. Any player that holds your mouth open with both hands and stuffs any sort of DRM down your throat with both feet IMHO sucks. Secondly MP3 is much more widely adopted format with other programs.
I’ll have to give Yamipod a look
September 26th, 2006 at 5:34 pm
Why didn’t you also include the word sucks? Oh wait, I did.
You could also try stuff like yamipod.com .
September 26th, 2006 at 5:38 pm
Matt LMAO, yea my bad for not covering sucks enough, in the anger of the moment sometimes we forget the important stuff.

I HATE ITUNES 7 WITH A PASSION MYSELF.
Not finished and ugly compared to previous ‘efforts’, it also changes all my audio presets regularily and other random crap.
September 26th, 2006 at 8:39 pm
I hate that Apple forces you to load ITunes to simply watch a Quicktime video. That sucks, too!
Wow, you guys got me all fired up!
September 26th, 2006 at 10:42 pm
Like most other stuff with Apple - it looks good. Just don’t try and use it. ITunes7 lasted approximately 30 minutes on my machine.
September 27th, 2006 at 11:29 am
Well, to side with Mike on Thunderbird, It lasted on my machine for about 5 minutes (the time it took to install/uninstall)
September 27th, 2006 at 11:52 am
how about ituneshelper.exe?
I don’t even use *any* apple product on purpose and that fing thing is always running in the background. I suppose it comes from quick time, but all it really does is make me want to kick someone at apple in the face.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:14 am
I’m really surprised. I never knew so many people had bad experiences with iTunes - I love it.
September 28th, 2006 at 11:49 pm
Quicktime is insidious. I hate how it forces mp3’s to play in the middle of my Firefox browser when I click on a link to download SEORockstars.

Are they the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked? Gotta go, my damn weiner kids are listening…

Im not a computer whiz, just someone who listens to the music while cleaning house. Twice already my Itunes has deleted all of the songs on file. It has become a very big pain in my a%?. I only had it since christmas, and I have found that its not even worth the time and energy to redo the files.

Hey guys, I myself am not a computer wiz and my itunes has deleted its self. I don’t know what I have done or for what reason. Can any one advise on how I get it back?
Thanks
Nikki

I just paid for a bunch of albums and itunes 7 won’t download any of it. has been 3 days now and still apple has no answer or refund which was requested the next day. Apple sucks and I will never return
September 20th, 2007 at 1:55 pm
F*@#$%k itunes.
It is a piece of shit. it gets worse with every version. God I hate itunes.
Did I say I hate f#$%king itunes.
Apple should fire all these loosers who keep crapping all over this slow and crappy piece of shit.

I’ve been looking all over the Internet to figure out why the heck iTunes takes forever to recognize the cd I insert. I have to go to another app and then come back to iTunes, then it asks me if I want to import. Once it starts importing I have to either keep iTunes the active window for the entire time, or I have to go to another app and stay there until iTunes is finished importing. If I leave iTunes and go back to it in the middle of importing tracks it will stop and then ask me if I want to import the CD. Are you freakin serious!? What the heck man? It used to work great about 4 releases ago, and now it started doing this crap and I just want to destroy it. I’m about to switch players because this is killing me. It’s a total beatdown I tell ya!

Totally agree with you.
I have an older first generation IPod Shuffle and an IPod video 30GB.
ITunes killed my IPod Shuffle. It took me ages to get it working again - Apples support sucks. At the time, they just plain ignored everyone who said they had a problem - and there was thousands. Wan*ers.
If I wasn’t stuck with the fuc*ing piece of sh*t I would never use it again.
People give Microsoft so much grief, but at least they admit when there are problems, and release patches to get things working.
Apple can’t even admit when they’ve screwed up.

you guys make no sense itunes is the best there is, For any Platform windows or Mac its just dont work to good on older Pcs though, with it am able to copy
Cds with no more errors and in seconds, it also lets me browse and listen to everyones music libraries in my building at college flawlessly from Pcs and macs, it also looks for my albums Art work with just one click, on music i download from limewire, what more can you Ask for, but as you might already know since Macs switch over to intel theres CPUs are way faster than almost any Pc outhere even the Cheapest model the macbook sports a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 64bit processor thats sells for about $1000, and only dell makes a model the XPS that sells for about $2000+ that can come close to it, remember theres a big difference between a Intel Core 2 Duo 32bit and a 64bit chip
October 12th, 2007 at 2:20 pm
no argument from me, i used to think only microsoft could write somthing as bad as itunes. i’m sure my older version of itunes used to show me what was already on my ipod so i could choose what to update or remove (not any more) and don’t get me started on compilations. Just added one into the library and in cover flow view i have 37 albums same cover same title 1 for each artist on the compilation. and yes it is marked as a comilation and yes group compilations is ticked. -10zillion out of 10. the programing team of trained monkeys who produce this rubbish should be shot

I am so relieved there is people that agre with me. I hate iTunes. It’s counterintuitive and it erased my whole iPod twice. Every iTunes update messes my iPod and my PC. It sucks the big one. And it’s so irritating to tell someone that turns out to be an Appleholic. I’ll try out the yamipod
October 30th, 2007 at 8:08 pm
A year on an itunes still sucks so hard it’s unreal. I’ve uninstalled and am now using winamp - much better imho.
October 31st, 2007 at 9:00 pm
I love the above comment about only having iTunes for 5 minutes. If all you were going to do was uninstall it immediately after installing, i.e. without trying it, why install in the first place?
